Hello! And welcome to Vast Reality, my home away from home and place of technological design and development. My name is Jerod Waldman, and as founder and designer of this piece of World Wide Web real estate, I feel it is my duty to further inform you of whom I am and why this site exists.
I am currently 22 years old, and work for an International Healthcare IT company called Cerner, with the ultimate goal and vision of making the healthcare industry paperless and universal. I work as a System Engineer upgrading, maintaining, and enhancing client operating systems and software applications to work with our newest code revision levels.
I graduated from DeVry University in Kansas City in June of 2007 with a degree in Computer Engineering that is composed of roughly 40% hardware development, 40% software development, and 20% networking. Prior to college I grew up in a small town in Southwest Kansas. I got my start in computers when my grandfather owned an office supply store when I was about 5 years old. I have been working in, out, around, and with these pieces of hardware for approximately 15 years now doing everything from simple maintenance to building computers from scratch, to networking office buildings, to programming software, all of which has eventually led me to where I am now… running my own web server and designing graphics in my spare time.
Graphic and web design have been a past time of mine ever since I took my first design class in high school. Once I graduated from high school, I continued doing various free lance graphic work while teaching myself the latest tips and tricks along the way. To this day, I continue to gain knowledge through reading, doing, building, and exploring new genres of graphic design. I see this as a relaxing activity with a hint of mind and imaginative stimulus. The catalyst to this “digital work of art” (thank you Charles) is the pure fact that it is a way to personally present myself, my life, and anything else informative that I have knowledge about or which I find interesting, and entertainingly display it to the public minds of the world.
I did not compile this site to “ooh and awe” you, or make you bask in emo-esqe readings of times and feelings of life. This site was solely designed as a canvas for myself, Charles, and other personal friends, writers, and artists to display their works, whether they are writings, drawings, photos, or just simple insight into life. I ask upon you while you are here to simply open your mind and read. Nothing here was put together to change your way of thinking, but yet just to make you think, and learn while doing so.

I want to end by thanking my amazing girlfriend of over two years of putting up with me and my “computer” time which has allowed me to mesh and mend this site to how it stands today and never judging it, regardless of how it ever looked. Love you.
