More than close, you're right on target. Everyone perceives things differently, so every individual will have their own take on what they see when I write, on what they think it means. But if it DOES mean something to them, the way that it does to me? That brings me joy.
Those shoes are kind of uncomfortable sometimes. I'm still breaking mine in O.o Doing good though, I hope. :) You're quite right.

The most perfect form of writing deals not with what you want the reader to see, but rather what you want to say, to show, to give. If you appreciate the feedback, you more than likely enjoy the response, but probably more so enjoy that what you've said has done more than glance off the hardened shell most of us have against inbound communication. Am I close? I know I've been in those shoes and know now that in order to speak to people, we first have to listen! =)

Thank you, Charles. :)

I truly appreciate your feedback. It lets me know that what I write actually has a chance at being more to someone than just endless lines of lead on paper. Or so I hope. Good for improvement too ^_^

Very well written.

I imagine a large and important flight cross-country to a meeting with little significance to the progress of life, but all the importance of the stars to the company you represent.

Simultaneously, I imagine standing over my brethren and feeling equal, yet the time now belongs to me. When I lift my wings in the impending moments, the time for the world stops and the eyes lie on me. What a responsibility. =)

Awesome.

As I listen to Metallica - King Nothing reading this piece, I'm slightly overwhelmed. The last two paragraphs are INCREDIBLE. If I haven't seen an officer speaking to his soldiers before their largest battle; if I haven't seen a fireman tell his companions that he believes there's someone else in the house before charging the blazing heat; if I haven't seen the paratrooper jump into his last firefight knowing his family won't know what happened if he doesn't land on his feet; if I haven't heard the cries from the most fortunate decadents at pain of loss; if I haven't fought these battles myself, then call me a liar. This was excellent. Seek first to understand, then to be understood.

Thanks for writing, Ben.

Nyalic!! Haha, good to see you on here again, man. I'm excited for the new writers as much as any other, but I also agree with you 100% about the necessity of good authoring. Just remember, we can share anything here, not just writing. Do you draw? Paint? Take photographs? Do you like rocket science or something else very specific and unique? Share it.

"'Silence, Part I' was never really intended to have a second part."

This piece is a continuation of something special. However, without similar structure, it matters not. It does ring of a style of a modern poet... still written by the same old writer. You.

This is the greatest aspect of writing. You understand that what you are writing is bigger than you, even if you wrote it.

Keep writing!

This piece reminds me of the times you had something - HAD something - and lost it. Even if it's just for "one night" or months, once it's gone, you find yourself moving back through memories and searching for a way to retreive the person or the thing, a way to retreive the moment itself. It's only after hours of torturing yourself that you realize this is impossible and it's time to move forward. One of life's hardest lessons seems to be this one that recurs over and over again.

Awesome poem, good rhyme. I like it!

Welcome, Jessica!

This is an awesome writing. It reminds me of the kind of thing I wrote for a long time. I see it as the most perfect way to express some of the darker things that we encounter in this crazy life. One's ability to understand life is bolstered by expression such as this.

Keep writing. =D
