Separate Ways

She asks, “Where are you going”?
Home and I’m not coming back.
“But you belong with me”, she cries.
So you say but do not feel.
The beat of our lives are out of sync .
Your life there , my life here.
We meet like clashing armies in the night.
Both defeated by our passions.
I never see the look in your eyes,
only the glance of lust.
Simple conversation or a kind word never passes your lips.
Only moans of pleasure.
“Why complain?” you say.
“You’re getting what you want”.
What I want and what I need are two different things.
Like feeding a baby kool-aid instead of milk.
So where are we going?
You to your life and me to mine.
I wake up from my dream
only to find you gone.

Very… moving. I grasp the concept readily and the actual situation personally. Very interesting, Nick. Thanks for posting.

Nicely written, Nico. You convey the emotions of both the situation and your personal emotions very well.
